Common questions from creators, teams, and new users
This page covers the questions people usually have when they first try UKNOWME. If you want setup
advice, head to the guides library. If you need account help,
use Contact & Support.
What is UKNOWME?
It's a private inbox for your audience. You create a link, put it in your bio or stories, and people can send you anonymous messages. All the replies go straight to your secure dashboard, so you never have to deal with public comment sections. It's built for creators, newsletter writers, and teams who want honest feedback without the usual internet drama.
Is it really anonymous?
Yes. When someone sends you a message, you won't see their name, handle, or email address. We don't show the sender's identity to the inbox owner. However, to keep the platform safe, we log technical data (like IPs) on the backend. If someone uses the app to send threats or severe harassment, we will ban their device. Anonymous doesn't mean unaccountable.
How do I get actual useful feedback instead of jokes?
The trick is to ask a specific question. If your link just says "Send me anything," you'll get random noise. Instead, ask things like:
- "What should I talk about in tomorrow's video?"
- "What was the most confusing part of my recent post?"
- "Roast my podcast editing style."
Giving your audience a clear prompt always leads to better answers.
What about spam and harassment?
We hate it as much as you do. We run automated filters to block obvious toxic messages before they even reach you. Inside your dashboard, you can delete messages, block users from sending more, and report abuse directly to our team. Severe violations (threats, doxxing, racism) result in a permanent ban for the sender.
Can people send photos or videos?
Yes! Your audience can attach images and certain media files. This is perfect for when you need a screenshot of a bug, a design mockup, or visual proof of an issue. Use the same caution with media as you do with text—if someone sends something inappropriate, hit the report button immediately.
Will my messages show up on Google?
Absolutely not. Your drop page (where people type messages) and your private dashboard are hidden from search engines. Only the public pages of the site (like this FAQ) are visible on Google.
I need to delete my account or request data removal.
No problem. Whether it's a GDPR or CCPA request, or you just want to wipe your slate clean, fill out our official privacy request form. We process these quickly and securely.
I need help with something else.
If you're locked out of your account or found a bug, hit up our Contact & Support page. If you want to know all the legal details, our Terms of Service has everything covered.
